Sports Premium Grant Expenditure

Since the academic year 2013 to 2014, the government has provided additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and Sport in Primary Schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Schools have to spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they have the freedom to choose how they do this. Our school has received £16000 plus a premium of £10 per child each year. The money has been allocated so that all children benefited regardless of their sporting ability.

At Winchcombe Abbey CE Primary School we recognise the contribution of quality Physical Education to the health and well being of our pupils. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities has a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. Primary School Sports Funding enables us to continue and extend our provision by employing additional sports coaches, entering into more competitive sports competitions, providing swimming lessons and training our staff to deliver high quality PE and games sessions.  You may download the latest information about how we spent the money below.
