Courageous Advocacy
As a church school, we believe that it is part of our mission to be advocates for all areas of society. We encourage our children to challenge injustice and inequality through participating in activities which engage in social action. We encourage our children to see each person as a child of God, courageously transform unjust societies and respond to the world in loving service.
As part of our courageous advocacy we put on events during the year to support a number of charities. Our chosen charities for this year have been selected by our school parliament. They are:
Cheltenham Food Bank is run by the Trussel Trust. It operates a network of food banks nationwide with the purpose of ending hunger and poverty. The Trussel Trust is built on the foundation of Matthew 25:35-36, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

The RSPCA was unanimously voted by our children to be supported this year. RSPCA do a wonderful job at preventing cruelty to animals and re-homing unwanted animals. The children felt that animals are just as important as humans in God's created world and also needed our support.
