Our First Prayer Day
On Friday 6th November, Winchcombe Abbey CE Primary School held its first ever Prayer Day. Each class had an opportunity to go into the hall to experience nine activities, which had different themes all revolving around our eight core values. This experience allowed the children time to think, to work alone, or with others, to support one another and to just be - an important time in lives where we are all so busy. End products were hand prints, micro herbs to take home to grow and look after, clay images of ourselves or people special to us, our hope tree, prayers for our world, friendship bracelets, a listening activity and our prayer weave. We are very grateful to Mrs Burlingham, our RE leader, who masterminded the day for us and to a very helpful group of parents from our school prayer group, ably led by Revd Pickersgill who ran the activities.
