This week Year 3 have begun to investigate fractions in a variety of different ways. We began by discussing how fractions can be described as 'equal parts of a whole' and then moved on to look at unit and non-unit fractions.

It's been also been really great to get outside and enjoy the sunshine while exploring the differences between numerators in different fractions.

More Fractions!

Year 3 have been looking at fractions with a particular focus on tenths. The children were so fantastic at explaining to each other how to count in tenths that we decided it was time for them to be mini teachers in Reception! Year 3 Yellow visited Reception Red and in their partners they collected resources to help explain to Reception what a tenth was and how you count in tenths. Year 3 Yellow were brilliant mini teachers and everyone had big smiles on their faces.
